Description

In a planetsystem far far away..

Launced over 32 years ago Voyager 2 is perhaps the most productive space probe yet deployed, visiting four planets and their moons, including two primary visits to previously unexplored planets, with powerful cameras and a multitude of scientific instruments..

Discovering that jupiters spot is a storm, that jupiters moon Io have volcanic activity, the posibilities of Water Ice on Europa, another Jupiter moon, also discovering three new moons..

Measuring temperatures of the atmosphere of Saturn..

Discovered ten new moons around Uranus..

The probe also discovered the Great Dark Spot of Neptune..

Voyager 2 is expected to keep transmitting until at least after 2025, over 48 years since launch..

It's currently looking for the border between the suns heliosphere and interstellar space..

Voyager 2 is not headed toward any particular star. It will pass by the star Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, 8.6 light years from our solar system..

Each Voyager carries a gold-plated audio-visual disc in the event that either spacecraft is ever found by intelligent extrasolar life-forms. The disc carries images of Earth and its lifeforms, a range of scientific information, and a medley, "Sounds of Earth", that includes the sounds of whales, a baby crying, waves breaking on a shore and a variety of music.

Growing up while following Voyager 2's journey through the solar system has been an educating and exciting experience for me..

May you reach far....

Submission for the Unknown Moons contest.. :)

Enjoy! :)
